Part 1 of 21 topics; Holidays
With a holiday coming up this week, I thought it would be a perfect starter. So holidays are cool, we have 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years, Valentines Day, Easter, and much more. Most of them are pretty fun, but I think they are just turning into excuses rather than things to celebrate.
Yeah, a lot of people like 4th of July, but as I have observed people through the years, its just another excuse to get off of work. I don’t mean to get too deep here, but not too many people actually appreciate and learn about the holiday.
Halloween is cool too, its probably the only time it is ever acceptable to take free candy from strangers repeatedly.
Valentines day is okay. I mean I dont usually get to hang out with anyone except my family and all my friends get dates (but not me). But I mean, little chocolates? Giant stuffed animals? Yes please! Its all so fun and cute.
I don’t really want to talk about Christmas or Easter. They are fun too, presents and candy and whatnot, but kids don’t know the true meaning of that either. They just want the newest iPhone or some candy. Also, I spent 2 weeks in New York with my great-uncle and grandparents, and the only thing my uncle watched was 1960’s cowboy shows (he is around 80 years old) and Christmas movies. His house was filled with Christmas decorations.
I think that’s pretty much it for this one. I don’t enjoy holidays too much except for a select few, but that doesn’t mean something wont change within a few years or so, maybe I am just being a Grinch.

I agree with you on this one however I do like the 4th of July I.e. guyforks because it’s my birthday. Except in New Zealand we don’t get the day off.

not too many people get the day off here either, but they just do it anyways because “family stuff”. And thats really cool its on your birthday! My grandma’s birthday was then too and i used to think they set off fireworks just for her <3. She was my world
