I’m playing guitar…I think

So some of you know I have received an acoustic guitar for Christmas (Love you ‘Santa’). Before I got the guitar I was playing bass/ukulele, and so it was easy for me to get calluses (rough patches on your fingertips that help numb the pain of playing thin strings). But I stopped playing sometime after Thanksgiving when school was back in session and we learned about finals, so I think they might have went away. I am trying to learn a few songs, and I am able to play parts of some songs (“twinkle twinkle little star”, “Romance”, and “Early Sunsets Over Monroeville”). But its kinda hard to play without calluses. I think some are starting to form again, but its leaving my fingers kind of dented and some of the skin is starting to peel off. Its weird. Anyways, if any of you guys know some handy guitar tricks or tips, please help me out. I’ve never touched a guitar until like…not even a month ago and I don’t know too much about them.
