Okay, so as some of you know, one of my most favorite bands is My Chemical Romance. They are a great band, but unfortunately they broke up in 2013. BUT now they are back together (since Halloween (AKA Frank Iero’s birthday)). They performed for the first time in almost 8 years on December 20, 2019 and it was a bizarre show. They raised over a million dollars and have since been really grateful for all the support since their reunion. But one thing happened. Gerard Way (the singer of MCR) posted a series of singles towards the end of 2018 (Happy together, Getting Down The Germs, Dasher, Baby You’re A Haunted House, and Hazy Shade Of Winter). Sometime in December he posted this on his Instagram;

“2018 was a dark year full of black magic in my opinion, so it got me thinking about witches again. I was inspired to buy this mask because I had just written a song called I Am The Hag, which I haven’t finished yet. It’s kind of heavy. Maybe I’ll release it in 2019.”

Now that seems normal, the singles possibly inspired him to start writing again, but it never got released in 2019. But since MCR has gotten back together, they have been really cryptic on their social media. Things such as symbols from tarot cards started popping up on their new logo (below) and their merchandise trailer that was set up a few hours before the concert.

It only intensifies more from there. The band account posted a picture of a hooded skeleton on January 3rd, 2020 with the UK flag emoji as the caption. Then, on January 9th, they released a GIF that included some weird symbols and the UK flag, along with a skull emoji as the caption. On the 14th and the 16th the most recent set of teasers were released (as of January 18th). The first one had a picture of a sheet-covered hospital gurney, with what looked to be a person underneath. The last/most recent one was another GIF that had a car that was eerily similar to the Danger Days trans-am car speeding through the desert (i cant get the GIF to load, but i will show you what the car looks like)

At first, when the hooded skeleton image was released, nobody could figure out what it was for. I did some research, but when i typed in “hooded skeleton” to the search, all that came up was the Grimm Reaper. Now, remember the thing Gerard said about witches? Well people are starting to speculate that he might be working on that witch-inspired album/music with MCR. That theory was only fueled more by the next teaser. Those symbols are actually letters from the Wicca/Theban alphabet. It spells out “JUNE MX or JUNE MM XX” (MX is 10 in roman numerals). That could mean one of two things, June 10th or June 2020. Either way it has to do with June, but what some people did notice was that June 10th was actually the first day of the Salem Witch Trials, when the first suspected witch was hung. Interesting, right? Well, not too much was found for the hospital gurney image unfortunately, but people think that it may relate to their 3rd studio album, The Black Parade, and the way MCR began their show during that era (see image below)

I decided to look into the significance of the dates when the teasers were released. I couldn’t find anything related to the first 3, but the most recent one with the car was released on January 16. That night, the moon was at the waning gibbous phase, which is the first phase it goes through after the full moon. Well, witches get most of their powerful spells to work during full moons and is very important to witchcraft. That is about it for now, until the next teaser is released. What do you guys think?
